We can have all the drills/functions/SSGs/PoPs etc but without ONE element missing, it all falls down.
That element is 'Engagement'
Engagement means knowing WHEN & WHEN NOT, WHERE & WHERE NOT and HOW to communicate both ways so that players are understanding WHAT you want from them, WHAT they can expect from you and the skill of TIMING this communication.
This coupled with physical expressions from positive body language to 'eye' contact that speaks volumes, your players should be involved in an invisible 'chain' where you 'connect' with players on an emotional level, so that they perform on a practical level.
What ways do you 'engage' with your players and if so, what outcomes have you experienced???
